“ I've been looking for my go-to pho place and Pho Nam Lua has cemented itself. It was super crowded on a Saturday night, but we were seated within 2 minutes. The service was fast and everything came out within 5 minutes of ordering. I got the large "special noodle soup" and it was divine. If you like a kick, I'd have to recommend the chili oil. I'll definitely be coming back. ”
“ Hands down, the best Chicago has to offer. Here's what I ate: Pho (rare steak, well done steak, tendon): 7.5/10. The well done steak was actually brisket and the broth needed lime and chili crisp (non traditional, I know) to be outstanding. Deducting stars because the broth should be incredible on its own and it just wasn't #11 crepe pancake with pork and shrimp. This is the best I have ever outside of home cooking Gou con : absolutely delicious, no notes Marinated pork Bahn mi: there is nothing that they could have done better here, juicy meat, fresh veggies, airy bread. Essentially there's no point in buying bahn mi from anywhere else in the city. Worth a trip, for sure! ”
“ This was my second visit to the little Vietnam along the Red Line's Argyle station. Last time I had gone to Tank Noodle, but Nha Hang appears to be the stalwart favorite for pho and noodle soups, so it seemed to be the natural fit for a late fall evening. I ended up opting for the vegetarian Mì Xào Rau Cải, which reminded me of Cantonese breakfast noodles. Those are typically served half drowned in corn syrup-based sauce, and half fried, but here you're asked by the server to pick one variety. The fried tofu had good texture and was the best topping: ”
“ Food: been here multiple times & I always have no complaints about the food. Everything seems authentic. Flavor of the pho broth alone is rich, no need to add sauce if you don't like to. Service: good, always get seated relatively fast for how busy it always is Ambiance: packed little restaurant, gets pretty loud with conversations ”
“ It's 3:35pm in the afternoon on a Saturday and this place is packed in both dining rooms, while Tank Noodle (which used to be the most popular spot) is mostly empty. That's how awesome this place is... I've dined here for many years and gotten take out and nothing I've ordered has ever disappointed. Love their pho, goi cuon, and salads! Their menu is huge and you can try many traditional Vietnamnese dishes that you don't usually find in other restaurants. So if you're feeling adventurous, this also a good spot. ”
“ Great mom and pop shop. I ordered my pho and was served within 3 mins. The staff were all very nice. Large menu for all of your Vietnamese cravings. Pho was very tasty. Didn't require anything extra. I was very pleased ”
“ The spot is on Argyle, which is surrounded by several Vietnamese restaurants. The banh mi had a crispy baguette. The filling was substantial. It was priced similarly to every other banh mi in the neighborhood. I also had a bowl of pho tai. The bowl was large. There were tons of noodles and the beef was tender. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. It was early morning and it hit the spot. ”
“ This is a charming hole in the wall that does Vietnamese food right. Their menu is massive and full of traditional dishes that you wouldn't find at a basic Vietnamese spot. I got the duck salad (goi vit) and a banh xeo (crispy pancake) to share. Both were flavor bombs I had never tried before. Super filling as well. The duck salad was kinda hard to eat because the duck wasn't deboned, however, I feel like eating meat off the bone tastes better. My boyfriend ordered the #75 rice noodles with grilled beef, shrimp, egg rolls, and meatballs. I tried a little bit of this but not everything, so I'm not the best judge, but the bite I had was good! ”
“ This was the first pho I've had since moving to Chicago, and it did not disappoint. It's an unassuming restaurant that is much bigger than it looks. The cha gio were some of my favorite I've ever had, and the chicken pho was perfect. Everyone was very nice as soon as I walked through the door. Less than a 5 minute walk from the red line, this is absolutely somewhere I will be coming again. ”
“ Surprisingly tasty! I ordered Togo: rice and pork chop, spicy beef lemongrass, pho. The three dishes are rich in flavor. Even though , it is a Togo order, they gave us a lot of veggies. They are also open very early, so it is a plus for us, since we are in need for an early breakfast. I haven't been in the restaurant, so I don't know how their service is. But I will def going back for the food! ”
